Tripoli Municipality Opens Municipal Database to Citizens 

With assistance from USAID and SUNY/CLD, Tripoli Municipality recently initiated citizen access to the Municipal Geographic Information System (MGIS) developed and implemented under the program. Citizens are able to view certain information including the basic "layers" of data related to the area as well as specific tax account data.


Designed to be intuitive and straightforward, the citizen system is linked to a touch screen located in the Central Reception Office at the Municipality that can be utilized to readily access information and send requests for printed copies as necessary. In addition to providing accurate information to the public, wide use of the citizen MGIS is anticipated to lessen the administrative burden to routine taxpayer inquiries.
