Human Resource Development
Workshops and Training
One of the most important goals of the technical assistance
to local government has been to enhance the professional
capacities of municipal officials and employees in order to
achieve results in terms of an improved quality of
governance and in order to sustain reform efforts. Prior to
program implementation workshops for elected officials and
senior staff members were conducted to ensure that partners
were fully engaged in the program and to identify any
necessary programmatic changes related to the subsequent
training. Specialized computer, administrative, and
financial training courses were then conducted in order to
enable municipalities to properly implement the appropriate
work processes and procedures and to fully benefit from the
information technology resources provided.
More than 1,100 officials and senior staff members
have attended workshops
to facilitate implementation of the standardized
administrative and financial procedures
Approximately 1,900 municipal employees municipalities
have received computer and/or specialized financial and
administrative training
26% of employees trained are female with the
percentage as high as 34% in some regions. |
