Lebanese Parliament
Overview
Assistance has been provided to the Lebanese Parliament since 1994. Projects
have been focused on enhancing the legislative and administrative capacities of
Parliament, expanding citizen participation in the public policy debate, and
supporting the development of Parliament's role as a democratic institution. A
number of strategies, including policy dialogue trips, development of legal
databases and reference guides, and creation of customized information systems,
were utilized to enhance the legislative capabilities of Parliament. The
administrative work of Parliament was reorganized and restructured through the
introduction of the appropriate information technology systems and tools and
through the specialized training of staff.
