Memoranda of Understanding
• Ministry of Interior and Municipalities
The Ministry of Interior and Municipalities (MOIM), SUNY/CLD,
and USAID signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 1998, in
2001, in 2004, and in 2009 to provide technical assistance
to regional and local governments in Lebanon
• The Lebanese Parliament
The Lebanese Parliament, SUNY/CLD, and USAID signed a number
of Memoranda of Understanding since 1993 encompassing
technical assistance to be provided to the Government of
Lebanon.
• Office of the Minister of State for Administrative
Reform
In 1995, 1996, and in 2001 the Office of the Minister of
State for Administrative Reform (OMSAR), SUNY/CLD, and USAID
signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide technical
assistance to the executive oversight agencies in order to
enhance their management, legal, and regulatory
capabilities.

Funding Agency
The United States Agency for International Development,
USAID, is an independent federal government agency
established in 1961 that provides assistance to more than
100 countries to support long-term, equitable economic
growth through projects focused on agriculture, and trade,
global health, democracy, conflict prevention, and
humanitarian assistance. The agency works in close
partnership with private voluntary organizations, indigenous
organizations, universities, American companies,
international agencies, other governments, and other U.S.
government agencies. USAID's mission in Lebanon is to
encourage economic growth and agriculture development,
strengthen democracy and good governance, protect the
environment for long-term sustainability, and promote
humanitarian assistance.
